Hylton stay in second after win at Boldon

In the Durham Cricket League Frank Lees Cup Group A, Hylton remain in second place, following their win at bottom club Boldon.

Batting first they totalled a healthy 191-8 from their allocated 40 overs, but the home side struggled throughout and were all out for just 81.

Ryhope went down at home in a low scoring game with Marsden.

The home side made just 87 all out, as Andrew Davies, Colin Mann and Christophe­r Mann, each took three wickets.

The visitors also lost early wickets, but opener Patrick Jackson made 33 and Colin Mann 40, to ensure victory on 88-6, despite Jonny Errington claiming 3-28.

South Shields made it eight wins out of eight, with a 10 wicket win over Bill Quay.

The visitors were reduced to 85 all out, as Sam Embleton claimed 3-25 and there were two wickets each for Joshua Leslie and Liam Dixon, with only Alan Mustard resisting with 29 runs.

In reply, openers Luke Elliott (39no) and Chris Rainbow (33no) eased their team to victory with an unbroken stand of 86 runs.

In the Darlington Building Society NYSD ECB - Premier League Hartlepool remain in fourth, following their comfortabl­e nine wicket win at Marton.

The home side batted first with Lee Hodgson scoring 42 and Owen Kelly 33, but Neil Whitworth claimed an excellent 5-30, to reduce them to 128 all out.

James Lowe was solid at the top of the order, as he made 62 not out alongside Paul Braithwait­e with 33 not out ,with their side ending up on 129-1.

In Division One, Seaton Carew remain in fourth place, despite a heavy defeat at second placed Darlington.
