He was clocked speeding at 48 miles per hour on September 1, 49 miles per hour on September 2, 52 miles per hour on September 3 and 47 miles per hour on September 8.

South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court handed him th re e p e n a l ty p o i nt s fo r each offence and insisted disqualification was “obligatory due to repeat offending”.

Earlier figures released by Northumbria Police revealed that 841 motorists were caught exceeding the temporary limits in September 2019 – the first full month average speed cameras were operational – as they headed southbound.

Another 328 were filmed breaking the restrictions by the cameras as they headed in the opposite direction the same month.

Work on the flyover is expected to end in 2021.

Deen, of Bishopton Road West, Stockton, who did not appear in court, was given credit for his guilty pleas.
