Crook Town battle back to see off Washington

Crook Town came from two goals down to secure all three points in their visit to Washington in Northern League Division Two.

Lewis McGeoch and Ethan Barella were on target to give the Mechanics a two-goal lead at half-time – but they were left empty-handed as Matty Crossen, Jamie Tumilty and Christian Holliday helped the visitors to a 3-2 win.

Carlisle City lie in fourth place after Jordan Palmer, Dan Kirkup and Sam Atkinson all scored in their 3-0 home win against Birtley Town.

Billingham Synthonia are also in contention for a top four place as a Kurtis Howes brace and a Jack Bailey goal helped them to a 3-0 win against inform Newcastle University at Norton Sports Complex.

Jarrow looked well on their way to a home win against Tow Law Town as Glen Hargrave and Josh Elcoate put them two up inside the opening quarter of an hour.

H ow e ve r, t h e L aw ye r s romped to a 7-2 win as Barrie Smith and Mason Hurworth grabbed braces and Tom McAloon, Jeff Smith and Ryan McKinnon all added their names to the score-sheet.

West Allotment Celtic took all three points in a thrilling sixgoal game at Ryton and Crawcrook Albion.

By half-time, Albion’s Scott Gunn’s opener for Albion was cancelled out by an equaliser from Jacob Forster.

Lee Richardson restored the hosts’ lead eight minutes after the interval – but it was Allotment that claimed the points as Matty Hayton, Liam Beeston and Shane Jones scored to seal a 4-2 win.
