It’s an archaic institution

-

I thought i must reply to Scott Andrews’ love letter to the Queen, alongside his homage to Boris Johnson in a recent letters page.

My criticism of the royal family, to which Scott never responded, was how shameful it was that the richest woman on the planet felt the need to come to the taxpayer with a begging bowl at a time when millions of people are struggling and frightened of what the future holds for them.

Scott also never gave us his thoughts on Prince Andrew who is still living off the taxpayer in a world of luxury and splendour, and why he is refusing to

go to America to answer questions about his close friendship with the convicted paedophile Jeffery Epstein.

It’s a well documented friendship and there's a lot of young women over there looking for answers and hopefully justice.

He also says I've got nothing good to say about any of the royal family, but in previous letters I've praised William, Harry, and Megan numerous times on their work with mental health issues.

And if I say so myself I was pleasantly surprised with William; he was very passionate in his documentary on extinction rebellion alongside the legend David Attenborough.

His passion for saving the planet seemed genuine and it really was great to see.

I just wish those passions for saving the planet could get through to what I consider to be, the brainwashed working class Tory voters like Scott, and his American counterparts, the redneck supporters of Donald Trump.

They are like turkeys voting for Christmas.

What is it that makes these people continually vote in Trump etc, they are hell bent on killing our planet.

The Johnsons and Trumps of this world know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

Anyway i digress, so as much as I admire what William and Harry and Megan are trying to do I'm a great believer in democracy and until the time we start having a vote for the Royal family I will continue to voice my disdain and campaign for the abolition of this undemocratic, archaic institution.
