Sunderland RCA manager Martin Swales has urged his side to move on from their midweek defeat at Ashington as they prepare to host Shildon in the FA Vase first qualifying round.

R CA became the latest side to fall victim to the inform Colliers as Ian Skinner’s side claimed a 3-1 win at the Dw media Stadium on Tuesday night.

Swales has already turned his attention to his attempts to replicate the 3-2 win his side earned against Shildon in a third round tie two years ago.

The RCA boss will be boosted by the return of several key players including Dylan Elliott, Ross Preston and Mark Davison and admitted that he’s looking to put things right after their midweek defeat.

He said :“We said after Ashington that the game is done, and we have a massive game against Shildon where we can put it right.

“They are always going to score goals and they’ re a really strong side, so it’s a tough game,

“We have to make amends for what happened on Tuesday and hopefully we can go well in the Vase.

“Every side that beats us seem to go and a reach the final, so it would be nice to do that for ourselves.

“That’ s the aim, that’ s what we want to do.”

Ry hope CW will have Kyle Davis and Ben Riding available for their trip to West Yorkshire as they face Northern Counties East League club Campion.

There has been one departure from the club this week as coach Scott Oliver accepted an offer to become joint manager at Division Two club Jarrow.

“They don’t seem to have signed too many players, but they have found something that works for them.

“Every game is tough, but this is one of those games where we have to dig in and try and get a point.

“Injuries are killing us at the moment, and it feels like things aren’t going our way.”

Liddle’ s cause isn’t helped by a number of injuries within his squad.

James Norton (hamstring ), Adam Drysdale (knee), Dale Burlace (shin) and Jamie Fryatt (neck) are among the absentees for the game. Elsewhere on Saturday, Durham City begin life without former manager Didier Agathe with a home game against Ryton and Crawcrook Albion.
