Pearson hinting Ryhope may go back to basics for Shields clash

Ry hope CW joint-man ager Gary Pearson has hinted that his side may go “back to basics” when they face promotion challenger­s North Shields this weekend.

The Robins will arrive on Wear side looking to strengthen their grip on a top three place after winning losing just one of their opening eight games of the campaign.

Marc Nash’ s side have won many admirers with their eye-catching brand of football and look well placed to build on an impressive performanc­e last season.

Pearson revealed that he has watched the North Tyneside outfit this season and is ready to set up his side to secure a third win in a week by nullifying their style of play at the Recreation Ground on Saturday.

“I went to watch them earlier in the season and they are very good ,” explained Pearson.

“They play a similar way, it’s very effective, and if they continue to play that way, I will set us up in the right way.

“They area very good side; they always have been and the coaches they have are very organised.

“In all honesty, sometimes you have to back to basic sand play Northern League football.

“Maybe that’s a little bit of us playing that Northern League football, with a direct approach and getting

about people.”

Pearson and McCabe will have a number of key decisions to make as they have full squad available for the game.
