STORY:

Your reaction to the call for people in the North East to “stay at home” to help tackle the rising number of coronavirus deaths and infections.

Tim Fitzakerly: Lip service to a broken society, the rate of infection is outstripping any effective measures. The walls of a once great country crumble, without hope of a rebuild. Thank you England for your proud past, and damn you for a generation of gutless sheep.

Yvonne Walton: Well

said!

Lisa Angus: So month after month most ppl are doing what is requested and still 9 month down the line we in a worst state than March.

Pauline Leslie: Because irresponsible people won’t follow the rules.

Emma Golden: Cos not everyone is following the rules.

Michele Bywater: So no change then masks etc not working been in tier 3 for months not worked what difference will tier 4 make, what's next tier 10?

Tracey Brown: Until people start following the guidelines, the deaths will continue to rise.

Diane Steel: Schools can still go, it’s disgusting.

Dixon Payne: Everyone saying 'it won't work'. How do you know it isn't working? Imagine how the virus might behave if no restrictions were in place at all? The Tier system isn't used to eradicate covid 19. It is damage limitation. The damage is done, now it has to be controlled.

Luke Stacey: Won’t make a bit of difference but okay.

Laura

Bainbridge: Seriously how many more times the tier system is not working why keep trying?

Neil Heskett: What happened last time with non-essential shops closing and only the big supermarkets open and with nothing else to do folk just went to the supermarkets buying the non-essential stuff and spending hours wondering around the aisles.

Deb Ireland: Won’t work with schools still open and people going to others houses for drinks.
