STORY:

More of your comments about the introduction of a clapping for heroes initiative. Will you be taking part?

Sandra Knowles: No, I did it for everyone who had to go out to work but won't be this time as it does nothing to help anyone.

Suzanne Bailey: I clap for all people who working through this not just the NHS we all doing our bit.

Paul Brewis: No, just follow the rules, think they would appreciate that more.

Lisa Marie: No not at all. Didn’t first time round and won’t be this time either.

Ian Maggiore: When the last one ended they said what they really needed was ppe and a much deserved pay increase.

Ian Potts: I think everyone should shout for them to be given pay rises instead. Lisa Scott: I won't be clapping, I do think they do an amazing job but there are so many other key people and our armed forces get no recognition whatsoever for the sacrifices they make.

Graeme Stark:

I'd prefer that health and care workers are appropriately paid rather than make what seems to me a pointless gesture. Catherine Gilchrist: Nope, the nurses don’t want this, they want a pay rise. Kayley Anderson: Defo not! I don’t need people clapping for me, just use the nhs properly and follow the rules - simple!

Stephen Watson: No way, I've worked in the NHS for 28 years, we don't need a round of applause we need a pay rise. Mark Lee Richardson: No because more than them just them front line workers it’s what they are paid for shop staff bus drivers lorry drivers and many more. Dave Harper: Claps don't pay he bills. Give them pay rises. Jan McCarthy: Like a round of applause is going to help, stay indoors and give the a pay rise.
