High Hopes for new album capturing all Shed Seven’s glory
Indie music fans are celebrating legendary 1990s band Shed Seven releasing a new live album. Specially curated by the band and exclusively available from Shed Seven store, Another Night, Another Town captures Shed Seven’s dynamic live performances and anthemic songs over 21 tracks.
Featuring limited edition numbered coloured gatefold vinyl, special two-CD set alongside 180g heavyweight triple vinyl and selection of new merchandise, the album has been released 30 years after the band formed.
Frontman Rick Witter said: “When it became clear virtually no live events would be taking place, and with no Shedcember to look forward to, we thought it was a good time to go through recordings from our 2019 tour and 2018 Castlefield Bowl show to curate the best live album we could.”
Rick continued: “From 10,000 people singing along to Chasing Rainbows at Leeds Arena, to playing the classic outro of I am the Resurrection
in the home of the Stone Roses, this 21-track album features the best from our live shows over the last couple of years.
“The album has been mixed by Chris Sheldon, who produced A Maximum High and Disco Down, and we’re delighted with the results, which we think are as close as we can get to capturing the Shed Seven live experience on record”.
Added Rick: “We haven’t released a live album since we returned as a five-piece in 2007 and we certainly haven’t released one as good as this!
“We hope this album provides just a little bit of the live experience we’re all missing before we return in 2021.”
The band’s shedseven. tmstor.es website store page is the only place to see five of the songs from the band’s biggest show at Castlefield that feature on the live album.
Tracklisting on the new album is: Room In My House; Mark Where Have You Been Tonight?; People Will Talk; Devil In Your Shoes; Butterfly On A Wheel; She Left Me
On Friday/I Am The Resurrection; Better Days; On Standby; It’s Not Easy; Getting Better; Enemies And Friends; Ocean Pie; Dolphin; High Hopes; Disco Down; Bully Boy; Going For Gold; Parallel Lines; Invincible; Chasing Rainbows.

Shed Seven formed in York in 1990, among one of the groups to contribute to Britpop music scene of that era.
The group originally comprised Rick, bassist Tom Gladwin, drummer Alan Leach and guitarist/keyboardist Joe Johnson, who was later replaced by Paul Banks.
They all belonged to the post-Smiths wave of British musicians.
Between 1994 and ‘99 they scored 15 Top 40 singles and four Top 20 albums in the UK.
The band officially broke up in 2003, reforming for a greatest hits tour in 2007 before releasing new studio album Instant Pleasures in 2017.
