A North East law firm is adding its weight to an influential network set up to boost business in Sunderland.

Ward Hadaway, which works on a number of projects in the city, has signed up to Sunderland Business Partnership – a 50-strong collective of companies based in, or with an interest in the strategic direction of the area. The Partnership brings together a range of organisations to help them collaborate and support each other, influence the city’s plans and help promote Sunderland as a place to do business.

Ward Hadaway senior partner Jamie Martin is set to join the board.

He said: “We do a lot of work with businesses in and around Sunderland, so it’s a natural step for us to engage positively with the premier Business Partnership in the city.

"We’re looking forward to playing a key part in driving this important group forward and growing our involvement in this fastchanging city.

“I’m really pleased to be part of a network that champions the city.”

Ellen Thinnesen, chair of Sunderland Business Partnership, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Ward Hadaway to Sunderland Business Partnership, and look forward to working with Jamie on our board.

“We have a fantastic roster of members, not only from the city, but from across the North East, that are keen to build strong networks in Sunderland and we look forward to welcoming more. These are exciting times for the city, with an increasingly vibrant business community, a huge programme of regeneration set to further propel it forward.”
