STORY:

More of hour comments after Prime Minister Boris Johnson revealed that pub landlords could be allowed to require customers to provide proof they are vaccinated against coronavirus.

Steven Shaw: No, it will be pointless by that point. If the government wanted to allow places to open earlier for vaccinated people then fair enough but if they’re deemed safe to be open generally by the government then they shouldn’t have any right/ need to check that.

Lawrence Jones:

It seems like any easy choice get the vaccine then you don’t have anything to worry about go where ever you want, no brainer.

Mark Roods Rochester:

It won’t work. People will stay away in their droves if implemented. Smacks of 1930s Nazi Germany.

Neil Thompson: Definitely if it gets us out and back to normal.

Michael Stuart: Yes I agree, let all stay safe.

Victoria Hope: No! End of the day the vaccine does not stop you spreading so you could show proof yet may still carry it and spread ....

it’s putting a lot of pressure on people having to get the injection ....

what I don’t get is government are basically wanting “everyone” vaccinated even children.. and this would have to be done every year, how is the NHS going to afford it on a yearly basis for everyone to be vaccinated .... at the moment the seasonal flu injection is not free only if you are over a certain age…

Keith Merritt:

But it reduces hospitalisation and death, therefore saving the NHS millions.

Shell Smith: I would be happy when I actually have vaccine.

Margaret Boustead: Absolutely fine by me.

Derek Havelock: Got to prove you’re 18, so why not?

Alan Carr: As if pubs are going to turn punters away after having lost so much custom over the past year I don’t think so.
