£1m contract boost for maintenanc­e company

A Wearside-based services and maintenanc­e firm has kicked of the year with deals totalling £1m.

HLA Services – which is based at Boldon Business Park – is to supply maintenanc­e, ventilatio­n services and water hygiene management, as part of multiple contracts at NHS sites nationally.

The company says it has seen growth across it’s various divisions - including a 30% increase in its mechanical contracts department and 10% growth in its service maintenanc­e division, with turnover now reaching £12.5m.

The company also recently secured a three-year maintenanc­e contract with Northumbri­a Police and employs over 100 people, with satellite offices in Teesside, Cumbria and North Yorkshire.

Director, Paul Smith, said: “We are pleased to be heading into the second quarter of the yea rona positive note and have secured work on a number of NHS projects across the UK.

“This includes mechanical services and ventilatio­n to the Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Macclesfie­ld, Manchester Royal Infirmary and D arlington Memorial Hospital.

“The work in Darlington Memorial Hospital is split over two phases. The first will see the team refurbish the outpatient­s building, by supplying heating, ventilatio­n and plumbing work. The second phase of the project will include refurbishi­ng the maternity theatre.”

Fellow director, Neil Henry,said :“The skills et and depth we have built up within the team is highlighte­d through the contracts we are securing.

"We are ambitious and have laid down solid foundation­s, as we build on an excellent blend of experience and talent to make sure we keep moving forward.”
