Silksworth CW manager Jamie Cole will not take anything for granted ahead of his side’s Alan Hood Charity Cup group one tie against Washington United.

Cole was left angered by the performance of his players in last weekend’s 2-1 defeat at Gateshead Leam Rangers but has fully focused on moving on from a poor result ahead of this weekend’s game.

Silks worth will face a United side that are in fine fettle after reaching the last eight of the Durham Trophy with a home win against Darlington RA last Saturday.

The two sides met in October when Silksworth claimed a 4-2 win against the Wearside League new-boys and Cole was impressed with what he saw from a young Washington squad.

He told The Echo: “Hopefully last Saturday’s result and performance is out of our system.

“We haven’t trained this week, but we will still try and find the formula to get things right.

“We have Washington in the Durham Trophy semi-final, and we have played them in the league this season.

“I think they are a very good young side; their manager knows what he wants, and they will be a tough challenge for us.

“We don’t fear teams, but we can’t take afford to take anything for granted.”

Cole received a triple boost ahead of the tie as Josh Perry, Kieran Mitchell and Josh Winthrop all return to contention.

Jason Newell and Adam Emson take charge of Richmond Town for the first time when they entertain Durham Corinthians.

The duo have taken over the role vacated by former manager Neil Tar rant after he decided to step down on Thursday.

Two sides that got their cup campaigns off the positive starts last weekend meet at Hilltop Playing Field as Gateshead Leam Rangers host Horden CW.

Farringdon Detached will hope to build on reaching the Durham Trophy semi-final by kicking off their Alan Hood Charity Cup group two campaign with a win when they host Norton and Stockton Ancients.

Farringdon manager Liam Lay is“down to the bare bones” ahead of the game with several players unavailable due to work commitments.

To make matters worse, Mason Burton and Jonathan Greener will undergo late fitness tests, but there will be one new face available for Lay after he added Ben Cairns to his squad this week.

Elsewhere in the group, Boldon CA have several selection issues to consider ahead of their trip to FC Hartlepool.

David Crumbie’s side were dumped out of the Durham Trophy at Gray fields last weekend, and they are expected to be without several key players ahead of their second visit in seven days.

The Boldon boss has confirmed Craig Waddell, Chris Foster (both work commitments), Chris Feasey (knee), Kieran Graham (groin), Alex McBeth (shoulder), Stephen Ramsey (broken leg) andJonathan Wight man( unavailable) areallconfirmedabsentees.By contrast, midfielder Robexpected to be the only player missing for Hartlepool.

Darlington RA will look to bounce back from the 4-2 Durham Trophy defeat they suffered at Washington United last weekend when they visit West Auckland Tunns.
