New jobs created as Aldi opens up again

-

An Aldi supermarket in Sunderland is set to create four new jobs when it reopens this week after being closed for a refurbishment.

The Aldi supermarket, located on Knollside Close, just off Doxford Park Way, is set to reopen on Thursday, at 8am following a refurbishment.

The store closed on Friday, as part of Aldi’s £500m investment into further improving its stores and services across the UK.

With 990 square metres of retail space, the supermarket chain have said that the refurbishment will provide a more customer-focused layout – allowing for products to be found more easily.

The new-look store will offer increased space, a dedicated British meat and fish section, as well as popular Lacura health and beauty products along with awardwinning beers, wines and spirits.

As well as the refurbishment, a further four jobs will be created at the store which already employs 25 people.

Manager Christopher Irving said: “The store is looking fantastic, and we can’t wait to welcome our loyal customers back so they can see it for themselves.

“We’re committed to making sure that the shopping experience each customer enjoys in our stores is on a par with the products and services they’re used to.

“Customers will notice a few small changes throughout the store to align with social distancing guidelines, ensuring we keep our community safe, and we thank you for the co-operation in ensuring the safety of both our colleagues and customers.”
