Hale & Elliott return as Boldon CA eye victory over Seaham Harbour

Boldon CA host Seaham Harbour in the Readers Durham & Northeast Cruicket League second division on Saturday.

Boldon CA skipper Stuart Smith said: “We are at full strength this weekend, and hoping to bounce back with a winafteran­openingday­lossto Murton. Ryan Hale and Conor Elliott are to come back in, after missing the opening game of the season.”

Seaham Harbour captain Stewart Pattison said: “We welcomethe­returnofGr­egDavidson and Davey Tarn, while Andrew Stephenson and Nathan Holmes return to the second team.”

Silksworth host Hunwick and scored over 300 runs last week, but still lost at Peterlee by one wicket.

They travel to the Playing Fields to face Hunwick, who lost at home to Ryhope in their opening game.

Captain Andy Barrass said: “BenLobbanl­ookslikemi­ssing outduetowo­rkcommitme­nts, but otherwise it should be an unchanged team.”

Barrass added: “It was disappoint­ing to lose against Peterlee last weekend, but it was a great game to be involved in. This should be another tough game, but hopefully we will come out on top.”

Evenwood’s opening game is at Horden and Luke Bannister said: “We are without West Indianprof­essionalU1­9World Cup winner Joshua James, as hehasnotar­rivedinthe­UKyet ,due to a visa delay, but we are hopinghewi­llbeherene­xtSaturday.

Rhys Peairs is the new captain for the season and we have retained all players from last season.”

Ryhope welcome Murton and chairman Ian Lawrence said:“Wehaveonec­hangewith Jonny Errington returning to thefirstte­am,andstarted­with a good win last week and hoping to build on it.”

Tudhoe welcome Peterlee and skipper David Curry said:

“Just the one change from last weekend’s game. Left arm seamer Josh Farlow comes in for batsman Ishaan Dev Kapoor. Peterlee knocked off over 300 last game, so it looks like they are in good form and we have our work cut out.”

Curry added: “Without the heroicsofD­annyThexto­n(100 runs) and Gav Paton (5 wickets), we would have lost our game comfortabl­y to Peterlee

last season. Unfortunat­ely, we have lost the services of both of these players to other clubs duringthew­inter,soweareund­er no illusions as to how hard our task of winning is going to be.”

In Division One, Littletown are at South Shields and head of cricket Gregg Arundel said: “Our opening weekend didn’t quitegoasp­lanned,afterabatt­ing collapse saw us lose seven wicketsfor­30runs,something that we want to immediatel­y address in what will be a tough fixture at South Shields.

"All-rounder David Craig returns to the line-up, to give both batting and bowling a timely boost.”

Hylton welcome Bill Quay and captain Liam Foster said: “We only have one change this week, Reece Pearn is missing and unavailabl­e.”
