Global first for UK brewing giant with carbon negative beer boxes

-

Everyone is becoming more environmentally conscious in a drive to save the planet and at Brewdog Brewery in Scotland they are also going green.

In a drive towards creating a greener world the Scottish craft beer giant has launched the world’s first carbon negative beer club.

Those who sign up to the monthly subscription box will receive a varying selection of beers, with each package featuring a “friend” of BrewDog to be announced each month.

Beer fans can expect a diverse range of beers from guest breweries from around the world, including CloudWater, Mikkeller and Modern Times.

The brewing firm claims the service is the first of its kind due to its environmentally-friendly set up.

To ensure the subscription box is carbon negative, the guest beers will be brewed under licence at BrewDog’s own Ellon-based site north of Aberdeen, which reduces brewery to brewery shipping.

And for each box of beers shipped, the Aberdeenshirebased craft beer company will offset 2,500 grams of CO2.

That means the customer will receive super-fresh beers of high quality shipped directly to them, at no extra harm to the planet.

This is exactly what Brewdog intends.

BrewDog CEO and cofounder James Watt said: “We’re incredibly excited to announce the launch of our first and the world’s only carbon negative beer club.

“We have great relationships with the best craft breweries in the world so what better way to showcase the incredible range of beers being produced than BrewDog & Friends.”

Members of the beer club will receive eight cans within every box, including four BrewDog beers and four “friends” beers.

The service is available through two subscription models via BrewDog’s www. brewdog.com website.

There’s the option to pay a monthly fee with no commitment and this costs each new customer £19.95 plus £3.95 shipping for UK residents.

The other option is a quarterly subscription for three months, costing £19.95 plus free shipping for UK residents.

Craft beer fans that sign up to the new carbon negative craft beer club will receive their first BrewDog & Friends box free of charge and they will only have to pay for the shipping fee.
