John Fury to give fighting talk in city centre

John Fury, who helped make son Tyson a world heavyweigh­t champion, will be giving a fighting talk in Sunderland.

John was also a profession­al boxer, with 13 fights during the 1980s and ‘90s, and went on to coach sons Tyson and Tommy.

After his original tour was cancelled last year due to the pandemic, John will be heading to Sunderland to host a talk at The Point in

Holmeside on September 24, 2021.

Tickets are on sale now for The Truth Tour, an Evening with John Fury, on ents24.com.

Announcing the tour on his social media, John said: “I’m over the moon to announce my UK Tour. Telling the full 'TRUTH' about my life from the beginning till today, No Holds Barred! From Tyson and Tommy to A little bit of trouble here and there.” Prior to the pandemic, The Point underwent an £100,000 investment to improve its lighting and sound and to also increase its seating and standing capacity.

With venues able to host live performanc­es once more from May 17, in line with the Government’s roadmap to lead the country out of Lockdown, The Point has announced a number of dates for 2021.

They include Smoove & Turrell on June 11, 25 years of Rayne on June 26, Uni-T: The Untouchabl­es on July 3, Ultra MMA on July 17, Ultra Boxing on July 24, Psychology of a Serial Killer with Dr Jennifer Reece on July 31, Social Room on September 4, Live Forever Live feat Oasis UK, Tom Hingley & The Kar-pets, The National Anthems and Phil Smith on September 10 and Martin Kemp on December 11.
