Social media is proving an innovative resource for ingenious cleaning hacks from restoring sparkling white grout to tackling dust bunnies behind radiators.

Research by home improvemen­t experts has revealed five viral cleaning hacks to help brighten up your home, that can cost as little as two pence.

1 Get streak-free shower screens with car cleaner.

Car glass cleaner is stronger and often contains a repellent, to help prevent a build up of water stains.

Using a car glass cleaner prevents hard water stains that build up, making cleaning the screen a much easier and quicker task. A car glass cleaner costs around £5.

This shower tip was originally shared on TikTok, and received a staggering 204.7K likes.

2 TikTok hack gets your grout sparkling white again for just 85p

It was found that just using a standard toilet cleaner can lift the dirt from grout, leaving it white and fresh once more. The multi-purpose cleaning method went viral on Tiktok, with one video demonstrat­ing the hack receiving 266.2K likes.

3 A laundry detergent bath leaves oven racks shining.

This one takes time, but costs just seven pence to do the job.

Add a cupful of detergent and hot water and soak oven racks overnight. The dirt will then wipe off easily.

4 Cleaning taps with a 2p coin lifts stubborn limescale.

This hack was shared on a Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook group, after a fan found that wetting the coin and rubbing it on metal fittings of taps takes away limescale without damaging the finish of your taps.

5 Blast the dust from behind radiators.

Using an aerosol dust spray, you can blast radiators with compressed air to clean the hardest to reach areas. Blast cans of Fabulosa disinfecta­nt spray cost under £1.80, and leave a pleasant smell. The TikTok user sharing the hack received 36.5K likes.
