City college opens its doors to visitors

-

Sunderland College is welcoming back visitors by re-launching its in-person open events.

The events enable prospective students to speak to teaching staff, apply for a course and tour the college’s facilities – with teams on hand to advise on student finance and bursaries, careers and study support.

The college will host several open events at its City and Bede campuses for school leavers and adults interested in studying vocational, technical and A-Level subjects, apprenticeships or parttime and short courses.

The events will adhere to strict safety measures to keep people safe and visitors are being asked to pre-register online prior to events for a specific time slot so numbers can be restricted, to only bring one other person with them and to wear a face covering.

There will be events for those interested in adult, higher education and access to higher education courses at Washington Campus on Monday, May 17, starting at 4.30pm.

A health and social care, sport and public services focused event will take place at at Bede Campus on Tuesday, June 8, from 4.30pm.

Judith Quinn, interim deputy principal for curriculum at Sunderland College, said: “We are delighted that our open events are returning to our campuses. We’re pleased to be showcasing our latest and future developments and investments, including our digital innovation hub at Bede Campus.

People interested in attending can pre-register at www.sunderlandcollege. ac.uk
