More of your comments on the new £42m City Hall is all set to welcome tenants and visitors.

Russell Dunbar: A great addition to the city centre. The folk working here will bring additional footfall benefiting shops, pubs and restaurants in what is very difficult times for the high street. The Keel Square area of town is starting to look the business. The transformation of Mackies Corner shows what can be done.

Wendy Stevens: Would have been better to build an arena, get bands and others to perform in the city!

Dorothy Berry: Great, looks fabulous, just what we need.Fine buildings make cities. More to follow I hope. Well done.

Steven Spoors: Hope it doesn't end up empty and wind up practically given away to get tenants. I really genuinely think town halls belong back in the 20th century, they've had their day. I t's there now so all the best.

John Mennear:

Sunderland City centre is really beginning to look up - and don’t forget there is also the new Eye Infirmary to come.

Audrey Thompson:

I think its a huge improvement, a great looking modern building, and easily accessible.

Malcolm Royal: Looks impressive to represent Sunderland and a great working environment.

Che Thornton: What a fantastic addition to the City Centre this is going to be. A catalyst project which brings businesses into the City Centre and encourages other businesses to relocate to the Riverside Development in the future.

Maurice Allen: So the council get a new HQ built by a firm for free? But the site of old civic centre is to be housing, nothing is free.

Alan Simpson: One tiny little area around Keel Square is beginning to look nice, while the rest of the city centre is in steep decline.

Linda Johnson: See how many years this one lasts.

Sophie Price: Very happy, great addition, more jobs, more investment.
