STORY

Much loved restaurant set to be demolished and relocated after 30 years as a city favourite.

Carol Jennings: Love this restaurant great memories over the years.

Petula Grimley: Oh no, they are demolishing our past. We had so many great night's there.

Anne Maughan:

My favourite restaurant in Sunderland, food that never disappoints, fab interior and amazing staff. Long may it continue in newer premises.

Kimberley Adamson:

This is so sad to hear. Lovely memories working here. Still in my opinion the best Italian in Sunderland. Hope they manage to keep it in Sunderland.

Julia Charlesworth:

By far the best Italian in town owned and ran by two of the nicest guys

I’ve ever met and proud to call my friends, of over 30 years probably nearer 40! Luciano’s belongs in a prime and prominent position in our City. I will happily sign a petition to the Council in favour of them getting the respectful treatment they deserve! I’m sure I’m not the only one. Good luck guys.

Keith Smith: We always enjoy Luciano's, we had two lovely meals there recently. Hopefully they'll relocate to Keel Square. The area is crying out for a good restaurant with perhaps a café culture feel during the day. It's a great business, good luck for the future.

Jean Joyce: One of our favourite restaurants! Hope they can stay in the city centre. Good luck.

Toni Moon: Sad time we go as a family for every celebration we can, even take the children there on Christmas Eve. Hopefully new premises will see them continue to keep the crowds flowing.

Kevin Taylor: Great place. Look forward to going to the new place which I’m sure will be nicer. It was popular for dinner before the theatre and lunch before a home game so let’s hope it’s not too far away from its current location. Great owners.

Angelina Rochester:

I have great memories going here from a little girl right the way up to now. Hopefully see you again in the new premises.

Henry Coyne: Best restaurant in its day always great food.
