Durham County Sunday Cup progress for Peterlee and District teams

Three outstandin­g Durham County Sunday Cup ties took preference last Sunday with all three SSK Recruitmen­t Peterlee and District Sunday League teams making progress into the next round.

Easington Colliery Welfare came away with a 7-2 win against one of the fancied clubs in Bold on Shack, with two goals a piece from James Watson and Dylan Elliott, while also on target were Karl Garside, Dennis Tapping and Liam Adamson.

A five-goal thriller saw Easington Lane WMC get the better against Hartlepool Lion coming out on top, with a brace from Jake Bowman plus a strike from Jordan Garside.

Also making progress was Peter lee Catholic Club who had an emphatic 7-1 win against Pelton Crown with two goals apiece from Kyle Middleton and Josh-Home-Jackson.

In the four quarter-final first leg ties of the First Division League Cup, Jon Weirs net ted a hat-trick for E pp le to nFC when they beat Sherburn United 7-0

Peterlee Helford will take a 3-1 lead into the second leg when they beat Wingate Howden.

Carl Price notched a hattrick and Matthew Smith a brace for Ea sing ton Mechanics in their 6-2 win over Easington CIU. Seaham Parkside defeated Seaham Oddfellows Arms 5-1 with a double from Harry Morgan along with further goals from Kieran Jones, Jake Edwards and Dean Bulmer.

In the quarter-final of the Cyril Dunn Memorial Cup, RyanD ins dale hit a four timer for Roseberry Park FC when they hammered Easington Southside 8-0.

Charlie Upper ton and Luke Thompson goals saw Murton Colliery FC earn a 2-1 win against Newton Aycliffe Iron Horse to progress to the next round of the FA All England Sunday Cup.

In the George Ivey Memorial Cup,a Michael Hughes hat trick helped Sea ham Park beat Peter lee H el ford. Robert Lewis and Ben Roberts were on target for Has well Odd fellow sin their win over Horden Labour Club. EastDurham­hada3-1winover Peterlee Hearts.

In the Heart Foundation Cup a goal from Liam Houghton was not enough for South Hetton Cricket Club as they suffered a 4-1 defeat against Witton Park Rose and Crown.

In the Second Division, two goals apiece from Jordan Williams and Ben Henderson helped Easington Welfare to take the points in their 6-1 win over Seaham the Knack.

Peterlee Inclusion hammered Hought Comrades of Great War 12-0.
