Pounder wants consistency from high-flying Ryhope CW
Ryhope CW will hope to end 2021 in the top three of the Northern League by coming though their visit to fourth placed Newton Aycliffe unscathed.
It has been an impressive first half of the season for the club and they travel to Moore Lane on the back of claiming three wins in their last four games. Extending that run on Saturday would mean going into the new yea rona high and joint-manager David Po under had called for his side to continue showing the consistent form that has taken them into the top three.
He told The Echo: “I think we are where we wanted to be at the start of the season.
“Me and Craig came in to join Gary and we didn’t want to finish mid-table or at least we wanted to try and finish higher than that.
“Aycliffe have improved since the new manager went in there and that tends to happen. Anything can happen in this league, but we just want to continue showing the consistencywe have shown so far .”
Recent signing Oscar Taylor could feature once again after scoring his first goal for the club in their 7-0 win in a DurhamChallenge Cup tie against Wearside League side Wolviston in midweek.
