Seaburn promenade set for a makeover as work continues to transform Sunderland’s seafront.

Clive Ketley: More improvements more visitors more revenue for the local businesses. Great thing. Just reduce the parking fees.

Russell Dunbar: More good news, it’s really looking the business down there now and is pulling in the punters and visitors!

Sean Donkin: Any chance of spending council money anywhere else in the city.

David Wingate: It's looking great down there now!

Victoria Priddle:

Something for the younger generation would be nice to keep them off the streets.

Connie Foster: What is there, given that we don’t have a fairground any more, that you can take families to? (Where you DON’T have to spend a small fortune).

Rachel McGregor: Love it! We have a beautiful coastline. It would be nice to see some money go into Roker Avenue as this is the main street visitors will see coming off the bus. It has the potential to be stunning.

David Pears: Not a big lover of Sunderland city council but credit where it's due - they've done well here.

Brian Hill: While the town centre is becoming more of a ghost town.

Barry Kean: Don’t realise how lucky we are as mackems having amazing beaches on our doorstep, and Sunderland council isn’t my cup of tea but I can slowly see that area improving.

Kev Stewart: I would much rather see that money spent on repainting the white lines on most of the roads in Washington.

Simon Blakeston: That’s not how funding works. they couldn't apply for funding from the coastal fund and then use it to paint white lines somewhere else.

Margy James: Where are the things for children to do, as usual it’s all for adults not very child friendly.
