Up and comers expected to shine in the New Year
We all have our favourite stars of the large and small screen and stage, whose careers some follow religiously. But who will be the new kids on the block, the ones to watch out for and the new stars of 2022?
Here we have a few up and comers that you may be seeing more of in the New Year.
Olivia Cooke
The 27-year-old may have been around for a while but her career is set to go into the stratosphere in 2022 when she enters the world of George R R Martin after casting as Lady Alicent Hightower in the Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon.
Cooke is well established in the movie business having already starred in films including Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, Sound of Metal and Ready Player One, and TV series including Vanity Fair, but her latest role is expected to bring her to a whole new audience.
Jesy Nelson
Jessy, 30, had a stellar career with the girl group Little Mix, but has now gone solo.
She is in good musical company as she has enlisted the help of Nicki Minaj and P Diddy for her debut single Boyz, which samples Diddy’s Bad Boy For Life.
Look out for her rise in 2022.
Emma D’Arcy
Emma D’Arcy is another who is expected to rise to fame on the back of her appearance in the George RR Martin story, House of the Dragon, alongside such established stars as Matt
Smith.
Known for work in film, television, and theatre, appearing in television productions such as Truth Seekers and Wanderlust, D’Arcy is set to play Rhaenyra Targaryen in the new HBO television series, which could see her star shine even brighter.
Austin Butler
You could be seeing a lot more of the 30 year-old Butler, as he is about to become the King, starring as Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming biopic Elvis.
To take the part Austin beat off stiff competition from the likes of Harry Styles and Ansel Elgort.
The Californian began his career as a child actor in the Nickelodeon series Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide and has also starred in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
