Silksworth CW manager Jamie Cole believes his players are “raring to go” as they prepare to visit Annfield Plain.

Cole’s side will return to Wearside League action for the first time since before the Christmas break with a tough-looking trip to Derwent Park.

However, they will travel in confident mood after Cole revealed he will have a strong squad available as his side look to move into fourth place in the table.

He said: “Selecting a team, for the first time in a very long time, is going to give me a bit of a good headache.

“It’s been a stop-start season for us and I’m hoping I will have a settled squad that will have a good run of games and get some points on the board.

“That all starts at Annfield Plain on Saturday.

“The mood in the camp is fantastic and the lads are raring to go.”

Farringdon Detached have a strong squad available as they prepare for their first game in almost a month.

Liam Lay’s side host West Auckland Tunns at Leyburn Grove and head into the game knowing a win could lift them as high as fourth in the table.

Washington United will hope to end a run of seven consecutive defeats in all competitions when they travel to Shildon Reserves.

Bottom of the table Coxhoe Athletic are without the suspended Luke Challinor for

their home game against Darlington Town and two sides in the bottom four meet as Norton and Stockton Ancients entertain Darlington RA.

The Alan Hood Charity Cup swings back into action

with Durham United visiting Wolviston in the only first round tie this weekend.

There are a trio of eyecatching second round ties with ever-improving FC Hartlepool taking on Shotton

Colliery at Grayfields.

Both sides will be without players due to suspension with Hartlepool’s Jarrad Burgon and Shotton midfielder Brad Beeston missing out.

Gateshead Leam Rangers midfielder Robert Houghton will sit out their home tie with with Windscale as he starts a three-match ban following the red card he received in last weekend’s home defeat against Hartlepool.

And league leaders Chester-le-Street United will take a break from their bid for promotion into the Northern League when they host Richmond Town at Riverside Complex.
