The City Council has announced the Airshow will not be going ahead this year due to the ongoing uncertainty created by the Covid pandemic.

Steve Cobb: Crazy to cancel this again - We need to live along side Covid now.

George Farrow: Disgraceful reflection of Sunderland council's feelings towards our armed forces.

Carol White: But you can go to a football match and concerts can still go ahead.

Joanne Harris: Bit early to be deciding this I think!!

Christine Angus: It is outside in the fresh air, we will never have herd immunity if that’s the case, Sunderland jumping on the band wagon again.

Sam Neil: Sick of covid being used as an excuse now, let me get on with my life before I keel over from old age.

Kevin Tasker: Just get on with life as this is part of life now, things like this brings happiness to people and it is what we need, sick of doom and gloom.

John Coxon: Meanwhile 12 Miles up the road there's 57 thousand sweaty runners allowed to enjoy close friendships and fresh air.

Donna Rayne: Meanwhile all other outdoor events are going ahead.

Andrew Mapstone: Basically the council not wanting to pay the expense of hosting the air show.

Shaun Sayers: The reason for this will be the cost of the cancellation insurance, which is probably massive at the current time.

Graeme Wharton: Folk moan when it's on, folk moan when it's off, make your minds up.

Carole Huitson: This is outrageous, so people can go to outside concerts, football matches etc, but the air show is not on.

Danny Spring: Absolutely pathetic!! That's three years in a row now and yet a multitude of other airshows are going ahead this year and did last year!
