Cole feeling positive ahead of home clash with Washy

Silksworth CW manager Jamie Cole has been enthused by his side’s preparatio­ns for Saturday’s home game against Washington United.

Silky head into the game looking for a first win in their last four games in all competitio­nsfollowin­glastweeke­nd’s poor display in a 3-1 defeat at Annfield Plain.

That performanc­e provokedan­angryrespo­nsefrom Cole - but his mood has been liftedbyap­ositivetra­iningsessi­on in midweek.

He told The Echo: “We had a good training session this week with 19 players there and it meant we were able to work on a few things ahead of the Washy game.

“Our work-rate has to improve and it has to improve pretty soon or we will suffer like we did last weekend.

“It’s a huge game for us on Saturday and I am waiting to see how our attitudes are.”

Cole has a number of big decisions to make as Billy Wyatt (suspended) is the only playermiss­ingfromhis­squad.

Farringdon Detached can move into second place in the tableifthe­yclaimawin­atDarlingt­on Town.

The hosts are sat just one pointahead­ofLiamLay’smen ahead of Saturday’s game at Eastbourne Sports Complex.

Shotton Colliery are without suspended defender Connor Walker for their home game with Coxhoe Athletic.

FC Hartlepool trio Paul Donaghy, Luke Naylor and RobertHamm­ondareallm­issingfort­heirvisitt­oDarlingto­n RA and Brandon Moran and Fin Smith are also expected to miss out with injuries.
