Sunderland Co-op store is set to close for good within the next three months.

Pamela Richardson: I liked it because it was open later than all the rest.

Annie Lee: Used to pop into here often on way to work, now since covid you can't get near the place because of the queue to get into Macdonalds.

Heather Bailey Clark:

It's been bought out and will reopen at a later date. Jobs are safe.

Lisa Hartford: We live very near this store and there has been access issues for a long time! (Long queues at McDonalds ) Wanted to support this co-op store but found it impossible with their neighbours! What a shame.

Nicola Clarke: You can’t get in with the maccy d’s queues, people would rather go another two mins down the road to Tesco.

Susan Wake: I'm not surprised. We used to shop here regularly, but you can't get into the car park for the queue for McDonalds so we go to the Co-op on Springwell Road now.

Susan Tye: The cooperative at Castletown closed also but good news it’s now been taken over by Morrisons which is great.

Zoe Menzies: Be making way for the new places that's getting built around it.

Ryan Breezeham: Another one bites the dust.

Keith Krager: A shop worker was held up with a knife and over £400 taken from the till. Could be the reason.

Dave Robson: It’s pretty much inaccessible most of the time.

Paul Maple: Blame McDonald’s for this, you can’t get to it for the traffic jam for the drive through, nothing been done about it.

Caron Bowey: I thought it was being bought out and reopening under new management?

Julie Kenny: Glad the jobs are safe, MacDonalds s hould close.
