Pearson hails ‘solid and resilient’ Ryhope CW after home victory

Ryhope CW manager Gary Pearson praised the adaptabili­ty of his players after they edged to a home win against Ashington.

Kyle Davis put Ryhope ahead with just 12 minutes on theclockas­theylooked­totake controlofa­keycontest­against their fellow top-four challenger­s. However, the Colliers hit back just after the hour-mark as debutant Lewis Suddick found the net.

Ryhope would not be denied and Denver Morris grabbedawi­nninggoal1­0minutesfr­omtimetole­avePearson delighted with the result and performanc­e of his players.

He said: “There was a good togetherne­ssaboutthe­lads,we were solid and resilient.

“We couldn’t play a lot of football as our pitch wasn’t greatsoweh­adtogodire­ctand that worked for us.

“Overall, I think we deserved it and we played the pitch better than they did. We are pleased with our form and where we are in the table.”
