In the Dukes ECB North East Premier League, the game of the day will be at Lilywhite Terrace, as league leaders Hetton Lyons take on champions and second placed South North.

Skipper Stuart Walker said: “Cameron Grimwood is back in from injury, alongside Patrick Stephenson.

“Liam Dixon is at a wedding and Oliver Watt drops back in Seconds.

"It should be good game and the last one before half way, so it would be good to have a positive result.”

Bottom club Sunderland take on Burnmoor at Ashbrooke, with the home side badly needing a win.

Skipper Greg Applegarth said: “It was a disappointing result last week, but we are looking to get a result against Burnmoor who are a very good side.

"We welcome back myself after injury and should have Safyaan Sharif and George Drissell available to play.”

Burnmoor’s Alec Lindsley said: “Last week saw us stop the rot with a much needed win.

"This week we travel to Sunderland, who are languishing at the wrong end of the table with us. It’ll be a tough game, as both sides battle to the spoils which sees us reach the half-way point in the season.

“We have one late fitness test on Josh Coughlin, following him pulling up with a hamstring strain.

"Riley Blunt is ready to come in and take his place if required. Weather looks fine so let’s hope for another great weekend of cricket!”

Whitburn are just two points above the relegation slots and they host Burnopfield.

Skipper Paul Shields said: “We make one change to our team, as we welcome back Rafay Khan, who replaces Phil Shakespeare, who is unavailable for the game.”

Benwell Hill host Chester-le-Street and skipper Peter Halliday said: “Kyle Coetzer returns to the side this week which is an obvious boost.

"We are without Rory Hanley however, who has been in excellent form of late. We are hoping to build on our performance at Burnmoor, where we fell agonisingly short.

"I’m confident if we improve slightly on last week, we’ll start to see an upturn in results.”

Chester-le-Street skipper John Coxon said: “We will be hoping to bounce back from a disappointing result last week with a win.

"We are also hopeful to have all players available for selection and there is an outside chance of a return from a former player who has been back in the region recent.”

In the other two games, Eppleton having won their second game in a row last week, entertain Tynemouth at Church Road, while third placed Newcastle journey to Felling in fifth place.

Division One league leaders Castle Eden travel to Blaydon and skipper Jonathan Malkin said: “Philip Wimpenny and Alan Unsworth are coming back in.

"It was nice to get back to winning ways last weekend and we are hoping to continue that form.”

Washington languish just above the relegation slots and visit Seaham Park.

Skipper Joe Thompson said: “We will welcome Tom Colledge back from holiday and we are approaching the stage of the season, where we need to start collecting some points.

“The performance last Saturday wasn’t good enough and we need to make sure we’re better this week.

"We’re looking forward to going to Seaham Park, a ground a lot of us haven’t played at for many years.”

Philadelphia travel to lowly Crook and will again be without pace bowler Luke Robinson and spinner Jack Scott for the game.

The two youngsters are currently in Italy playing for the Park View Academy.

Captain Shaun Hauxwell delays selection, but will be looking for another battling performance after having to work hard for a draw against leaders Ashington last weekend.

Hauxwell said: “We faced a big total and when we lost four wickets very cheaply and we had to dig in.

"Full credit to the middle order and late batters, as they kept their heads down and we were well worth a draw."

In the other games, Shotley Bridge in third place journey to Ashington in second place, while Sacriston are fifth and they travel to Lanchester.

*Eoin Morgan missed England’s eight-wicket one-day international victory over the Netherlands as a precautionary measure due to a minor groin injury.

Morgan has registered consecutive ducks in the previous two matches, raising questions about his future as ODI skipper.

He admitted before the series got under way he was managing the injury, which he first suffered while on duty with Middlesex in the Vitality Blast last month.

Alongside left-arm seamer Reece Topley, he skipped Tuesday’s optional training session.

Missing the last ODI caps a forgettable past week for Morgan, who was out for a golden duck in England’s world-record 498 for four last Friday before a sevenball nought on Sunday.

David Payne began his maiden England appearance in place of Topley, while Sam Curran replaced Morgan, with the tourists carding Moeen Ali at six.

The Netherlands also made a couple of changes as Fred Klaassen and Paul Van Meekeren replaced Shane Snater and Vivian Kingma, with Scott Edwards once again led the Dutch following Pieter Seelaar’s retirement on Sunday.
