Seaham Harbour call up youngster for Hylton clash

Seaham Harbour head to Hylton’s Billy Hardy Sports Complex hit by a number of absentees for their Readers Durham & North East Cricket League Division One encounter.

Seaham Harbour, in fifth place, journey to Hylton and skipper Stewart Pattison said: “We have both Regan Pattison and Greg Davison unavailabl­e.

"Harry Morgan Is also not available due to competing in a regional quiz final.

"Overseas pro Paras Dogra is still waiting for his visa and young 15-year-old spinner Joe Carlin comes into the side.”

The big two at the top of the league see Brandon and Durham City meet up at Brandon Lane.

Both teams are unbeaten and have won all of their nine games to date this season.

The home side have a small six point lead over City, which promises to be an exciting match.

Littletown, in third place, entertain Dawdon Welfare and head of cricket Gregg Arundel said: “We are unchanged from victory at Marsden last weekend.

"Sitting third, we play a Dawdon side who have recently had an upturn in results and I expect a tough game.”

Ryhope are just five points above the relegation slots and they host Boldon at the Recreation Park.

Chairman Ian Lawrence said: “Connor Pearson returns after injury and we welcome back David Craig on his return to the club.”

South Shields host local rivals Marsden in a local derby.

Visiting skipper Owen Peterson said: “Our opening bowlers Ryan Little and Matthew Hughes return to the team, as well as batsman Nasar Hussain.”

Esh Winning have no game this weekend.

Division Two league leaders and unbeaten Mainsforth, will be looking to maintain their great form with a home match against Murton, who are in eighth position.

Tudhoe, in fourth place, will be looking to beat Evenwood in second place and skipper Andrew Carrick said: “New signing Danny Hardaker debuts with the return of myself, Jonny Hall and Nathan Bushnell, coming in to make us at full strength and we are hoping to bounce back after the defeat to Boldon CA last weekend!”

Boldon CA have no game this weekend, but skipper said Jason Jones said: “Its halfway through the season for us and I've been surprised on what we have done so far.

"The change of mentality that I asked for at start of season and for us to be more profession­al in the way we approach things, seems to be paying off.

“The lads are having a day golfing on Saturday, and I'm sure next week we will come back ready to go yet again.”

In the other games, Durham City (Seconds) host Peterlee at Green Lane, while Ushaw Moor entertain Bill Quay at the Recreation Ground.

The bottom two fight it out as Hunwick welcome Langley Park & Bearpark to the Playing Fields.
