Holiday outfit tips to make life easy

-

Summer holidays are big on many people’s agendas, and for most, it will be the first proper trip abroad in nearly two years, so prepping the wardrobe could be seen as a daunting task. If you’re stressing about summer style choices, use these easy tips and tricks from fashion experts to make the whole process so much simpler, and pack a killer holiday wardrobe for £100 or less.

Olivia Crutchley, assistant stylist from fashion brand I Saw It First said: “The key to the perfect summer wardrobe is to have a range of good basics and items you can style in a variety of ways, so that you can cater to all your holiday outfit needs whether that’s for summer city breaks, island hopping, or lounging around the pool with a cocktail.

“Think staple pieces such as denim shorts, oversized shirts, mix and match bikinis and colourful co-ords that you can wear together and separately to create more looks for the same price. Then there’s the swimwear dilemma... but there’s no need to follow trend.

Olivia added: “For swimwear it’s all about feeling confident and comfortable.

“We’re seeing cut-out styles everywhere right now, especially in swimwear. They’re a nice way to show some skin without baring all. Every wardrobe needs a flattering one-piece swimsuit, to style with some beach trousers or an oversized shirt to go from beach to bar.

“The classic triangle bikini will always be in fashion, but this season opt for a retro print and match with a mesh sarong for a little bit of extra cover.

“Making sure your accessories game is strong will help you switch the same clothes up in different ways; dress down with sliders, a cap and a beach bag, throw a sarong over for a beach club vibe or add a pair of heels and pop of colour to transition into a more evening glam look.

“Your summer wardrobe doesn’t have to break the bank: remember to buy smart and your looks can last you from dusk until dawn with just a few simple tweaks”.

No matter what the location, you can find simple styles to cover all occasions, she advised.

“Remember, selecting your wardrobe is only half the battle. As well as shopping smart, you need to pack smart to make sure you can fit a variety of clothes and accessories into your case”.

Try these top three tips to revolutionise your packing.

Roll up smaller items such as socks and underwear and place them in your shoes to save room.

If you don’t have enough room for toiletries in your suitcase, buy them online and click and collect at the airport. Do this with retailers like Boots and you can buy full sized rather than travel items.

Plan your outfits and lay them out together before you pack...it’ll help you pack more efficiently and discard unnecessary items.
