Sweet Transit

PC

Price: TBC; Age rating: N/A

A train-led city builder, Sweet Transit looks to marry the key concepts of Railway Empire and Factorio into a quaint and relaxing package. The player’s must turn a village into a thriving metropolis as the needs of the populace grow. Efficient rail networks to support production chains must be built, growing in complexity as each objective is met. The railway signalling system seems complex, but the tutorials offer strong assistance, while laidback blues and jazz helps create a pleasant city building experience. 8/10

Xenoblade Chronicles 3

Nintendo Switch £49.99, PEGI 12

In this huge role-playing game, players explore a detailed world and fight an array of well-designed creatures. The series’ third instalment boasts an intricate plot and a carefully constructed world that will provide dozens of hours of enjoyment. The enjoyably varied combat styles are at the heart of the game and while the game is impressive visually, lengthy cut scenes and occasionally clunky dialogue mean Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is slow to fully capture players’ attention. However, once in full swing, the game is a feast. 7/10

MultiVersus

PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/X|S, PC Free, PEGI 12

Still in Beta, multiplayer platform fighter MultiVersus already features much-loved characters including Wonder Woman, Tom and Jerry and Arya Stark, as players battle it out with combos and cartoonish weapons galore. The fights are surprisingly challenging at times but difficult to master. The best part of the ambitious game so far is co-operation between characters, with support roles and varying abilities usually reserved for larger fighting games. There is still room to grow, but this early version shows promise. 7/10
