Gredziak rues Durham City's collapse in home defeat
Durham City manager Wayne Gredziak admitted his side were punished for ‘getting into a dogfight’ in their 3-1 home defeat against Annfield Plain in the Wearside League.
The Citizens took the lead midway through the first-half as Andrew Pritchard made the most of good work from new signing Kaya Bodur.
However, two goals from Ryan Allan and Liam Chatton strike gave their visitors all three points and left Gredziak to bemoan his side's poor display in the second-half.
He said: “It's a disappointing result which has seen us throw away a game we controlled. We collapsed again after being dominant in the first-half and after going 1-0 up, then missing two one-onones.
“A penalty that never was was given by the linesman rather than the ref and that changed the complexion of the game. We stopped playing football, got in a dog fight, and credit to Annfield Plain because they took there chances and took the three points.”
Elsewhere on Saturday, Farringdon Detached were condemned to a 2-0 home defeat against Darlington RA by goals from Ross Howell and Kieran Nicholson.
