SpellForce: Conquest of Eo PC

Price: £24.99

On the surface, a turn-based fantasy hex game sounds like it’s going to have a lot of rules and a lot more buttons – and you wouldn’t be wrong. But even if you’re a total newbie, everything here comes rather seamlessly. You start off with a small tower and a quest to find out what happened to your master. Before long, you’re commanding a vast army, facing off against monsters and exploring a map filled with secrets and treasures. The story does leave something to be desired but once you get in the flow of it, it’s really hard to stop playing. 8/10

Fashion Police Squad

Switch, PC, PS5

Price: £15.49; Age rating: 12

A cute and exciting concept, this game with its fashion-led shooting missions is very different, and the classic graphics are great, but ultimately, much like said graphics, the game falls a little flat.

It’s rather unintuitive, and withwith repetitive missions it both needs a better tutorial process and considerably more complicated stages to really engage the player. There’s a lot to love here, the story and the funny lines, and the characters are certainly entertaining, but if you want an exciting FPS this may not be for you. 6/10
