Cinemas at risk of closure as Cineworld issues administration update. A branch on our doorstep is among those facing closure.
Alison Jane Donovan:
So sad. All this live streaming and firesticks killed it off. Yet love the cinema experience but ends up being an expensive night out with overpriced refreshments.
Meleesa Marie:
Kids films are still only £2.50 weekends and holidays, we go all the time and its’ always empty which is a shame because it's all newly refurbished.
Politikally Cartooned:
It's an expensive night out, especially if you have a family of four or more.
Victoria Stobbart:
I took my six year old nephew and it was £10.49.
Steven Thirlwell:
Always love the cinema experience but went to Dalton Park to see Ant Man the other day and there was only about 10 people in, I don’t know how they can make a profit, it’s so sAndy Prattad.
Jackie Brannigan:
Why do people need to eat food in cinema? Sweets perhaps but not the rest.
Alison Williamson: If they reduced their admission prices they would attract more people then no need to close. Cineworld admission prices are extortionate.
Christina Burn: Just like average people the cost of living in business is the same it's so hard to keep prices down these days.
Sharon Simpson: Prices of popcorn, hot dogs, sweets, etc are too much.
Derek Burdon:
Can’t really blame it, streaming’s killing the cinema business, sit in your house or drive five miles to the cinema!!
David John Young: It's far too expensive to take a family to the cinema, not just for the film but drinks, and they make so much profit on popcorn it’s mad.
Andy Pratt: We normally go to Empire as the ticket prices are cheaper and we take our own drinks and popcorn in, still a great movie experience.
Jackie Scott:
Unfortunately cinema is another tradition that is dying.
