Sunderland fans demand rethink over digital-only season tickets, branding them a ‘big mistake.’

Alan Simpson: Another great way of losing income for the club, just like the cashless stadium idea.

Susan Wake: I don't want to get Google Wallet on my phone. I don't trust the technology to be safe! There are so many down sides to the idea of tickets only being on phones, and it certainly isn't fair to those who don't have smart phones.

Mary Mollett: They are just trying to stop anyone loaning out their card if on holiday, simple as that it's so annoying. You don't get a new plastic card if you stay in the same seat your old one is reactivated.

Liz Blythe: My husband has been going to Roker Park/Stadium of Light since 1953, he has a mobile phone but it’s not a smartphone and he doesn’t want one. If this is the only option it’s goodbye SAFC.

June Pace: Need to think of being "all inclusive" with fans. Need to have a dual system running for those that can't use or cannot afford the technology. Reassurances should be explained to those worried.

Andrew Watson: Have a dual system. When signing up for a season ticket give people the option to have a plastic card or to have it on their phone. You'll still cut plastic and it'll slowly migrate to phones over time.

Eileen Hughes: Once again people are dictating what to use. Some fans do not own a digital device. I will ask the same question as when I was working, what will happen when the systems go down.

Steve Johnson: Not right, not everyone wants a smart phone, unfortunately it's the way of the world now, it's just wrong.

Louise Yard: Shocking decision, what about the middle aged and older fans who won’t be technology savvy who have held season tickets most of their life, grafting to spend their hard earned wages on their ticket supporting the club through the highs and many lows, bit of a joke really, why not make it optional?

Laura Robinson: Absolutely shocking! They seriously need to rethink this.
