External work complete on project to create Sunderland’s striking new train station. It will provide a more fitting welcome to the city for visitors arriving by rail.

Kelly Senior: Really looking forward to using the new station terminal. Much needed improvement for Sunderland. Keep it coming.

Steven Spoors: Looks like a retail outlet, will they be selling pot plants and garden furniture?

Frankie Hill: Still remember the old station from mid fifties.

Elaine Obee: Glad Sunderland getting some money spent on it.

Val Brown: Great provident. Looking forward to it opening.

Joanne Campbell: Sunderland is improving every single day and it’s brilliant to see.

Andy Woodhouse:

Looks great, a huge improvement. However, many people in Sunderland will never be happy. Enjoy what is happening and embrace the future

Lynne Eddie: Might have a fantastic looking station but if people are coming to Sunderland to shop they will be very disappointed.

Keith Leonard: Looks great, and let's hope it's the start of major regeneration for the town, it's long overdue.

George Jenkins: Looks good but there again so did the leisure centre roof before it blew off.

Lee Terry: People complain when Labour do nothing for the city, and equally complain when they do, they can’t win.

Joyce Hardy Hunter: Looking good.

Shaun Cudworth: It's the first phase of three. So I am hoping that Network Rail doesn't do it's usual trick and just focus on main line stations and forget about the other two phases.

Paul Pritchard: It's looking great.

Andrew Hornsby: Looks decent.
