Seaham Red Star manager Mark Collingwood has issued a rallying call to his players ahead of the final month of a testing season.

After showing signs of promising during January and February, Red Star have been hauled back into the relegation battle and head into Friday night’s visit to West Auckland Town sat just one point and one place above the relegation zone.

Speaking ahead of the game, Collingwood told The Echo: “We need to get something and things need to change.

“We need to go there, we need a reaction to our last three or four game because we have been dragged right back into it by the teams around us.

“It’s a massive game for us and I look at our remaining fixtures and it’s six cup finals where we need to make sure we get as many points as possible and see where that takes us.”

Collingwood confirmed he will be without Adam Len n ox( injured) and Danny Say er (suspended) but otherwise has a fully fit and available squad.

There is one other Division One fixture on Friday night as two sides in the bottom four meet at the Calvert Stadium when Northallerton Town host bottom of the table Thornaby.

Andrew Brown is unavailable and Swales is hoping to complete the signing of a new striker ahead of the game.

The most eye-catching fixture elsewhere on Saturday sees the top two face off when Ashington entertain leaders Newton Aycliffe.

The hosts are hoping to have defender Ryan McKinnon

and striker Adam Johnson back in contention.

Whickham will hope to build on their impressive win at Bishop Auckland when they travel to Cumbria to take on Carlisle City, while West Allotment Celtic entertain Heat on Stannington.

Guisborough Town host Redcar Athletic, Newcastle Benfield are looking to avoid a fourth consecutive loss when Penrith visit Sam Smith’ s Park, Whitley Bay host Tow Law Town and Crook Town travel to relegation-threatened Pickering Town.
