Six cup finals left, but we must focus on one game at a time - Andy

-

Horden CW assistant manager Andy Colledge has warned his squad to be ‘right at it’ when they face Prudhoe YC at Welfare Park on Saturday.

Jonathan Payne’s side head into clash sat level on points with Ebac Northern League Division Two leaders Boro Rangers, who visit fellow promotion chasers Birtley Town on what could be a pivotal weekend in the title race.

Intriguingly, Horden and Rangers will face each other on two occasions during the final month of the season, including a potential title decider at the leaders’ Stokesley Sports Club home on the last day of the campaign.

Colledge has made the Horden squad fully aware of the challenges that lie in wait as the title race reaches its climax - starting with Saturday’s home clash with Prudhoe.

He said: “We have six cup finals left in the season and we just have to focus on them one game at a time.

“Prudhoe will be a tough game, so we have to be right it because we know Boro Rangers have to go to Birtley Town and that will be a tough game for them as well.”

Horden are set to receive a significant boost as Nat Skidmore, Michael Rae and David Dower are all set to return to contention.

Experienced midfielder Olly Hotchkiss remains unavailable with an injury.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Washington face a tough test as they look to boost their hopes of preserving their Northern League status when they welcome Billingham Town to Northern Area.

Boldon CA return to action for the first time in three weeks when they visit Billingham Synthonia and South Tyneside rivals Jarrow are without striker Channon North for their home game with Newcastle University.

Sunderland West End are looking to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat when they face Chester-le-Street Town at Moor Park and Chester-leStreet United entertain playoff contenders Blyth Town at Ford Hub.

Bedlington Terriers are without the suspended Joe Thompson for their visit to Easington Colliery and two sides in the bottom six meet as Ryton and Crawcrook Albion host Esh Winning.

Bottom of the table Willington go looking for only their third win of the season when they travel to Redcar Town.
