Rabbit Hole (Paramount+, from March 27)

It’s almost 10 years since Kiefer Sutherland last played 24’s Jack Bauer, and yet his name is still synonymous with the character, despite the fact he’s popped up in numerous films and TV series since then. Perhaps that will change after fans have seen him in Rabbit Hole. The eight-part spy thriller sees Sutherland in action man mode again, this time as John Weir, a corporate spy who isn’t afraid to play dirty if it gets him what he wants. However, he may have met his match in a mysterious world-controlling power, which frames him for murder. While trying to clear his name, Weir locks horns with its leaders, unwittingly becoming embroiled in a fight to protect democracy in the process. Rob Yang and Charles Dance co-star.

Unstable (Netflix, from March 30)

Rob Lowe is a busy chap. Not only does is he the executive producer and star of hit crime drama 9-1-1: Lone Star, he’s also fulfilling those roles in this new eight-part comedy series, which also features a leading role for his real-life youngest son John Owen Lowe, who describes the show as being “about a father-son dynamic that’s very relatable but under a really specific lens, which is a father who loves being the centre of attention and his son, who feels the exact opposite.” Lowe Snr plays Ellis Dragon, an eccentric, successful for narcissistic company boss who needs the help and support of his socially awkward son following the death of his wife. Sian Clifford and Fred Armisen are among the supporting cast.

The Power (Prime, from March 31)

SISTER productions, the company behind global hit Chernobyl, has teamed up with Amazon for another compelling series. Based on British author Naomi Alderman’s novel, this nine-episode thriller focuses on a plethora of remarkable teenage girls who have developed the ability to electrocute people at will, enabling them to turn the tables on adults. Toni Collette excels in the lead role as Mayor Margot Cleary-Lopez and is in august company, with John Leguizamo, Auli’i Cravalho, Eddie Marsan and Josh Charles also among the cast. But it’s the young rising stars as the terrifying teens, including Ria Zmitrowicz (you may recognise her from her appearance in the BBC’s challenging, true-life drama Three Girls), who really grab the attention.
