- By DAN NEWBOULD News Reporter

N-ICE additions have been unveiled in the final part of Christmas in Tamworth with a “brilliant” response so far.

Visitors are invited to enjoy the full festive spirit at Tamworth’s first openair, eco-friendly, synthetic ice rink at the Castle Grounds open from now until Christmas Eve.

A perfect activity for family, friends or work colleagues, set in the picturesque setting of the Castle Grounds overlooking the river by Holloway, it is ideal for an evening of fabulous festive adventure for all ages and skill levels.

Sessions are an hour, beginning at the start of the hour. Some have already sold out. Tickets are priced at £8 for adults and £5 for children. Children aged 15 and under must be accompanied by a full paying adult. Ticket prices include skates.

Until December 23, children can also meet Santa in his grotto at the nearby Castle Stables. Tickets are £2 per child.

Adults do not need to purchase a ticket.

Alongside the ice rink and Santa’s grotto, a brand-new free trail search for the life-sized nutcrackers hidden around the town centre continues and takes place right up to December 31.

Find all the nutcracker characters and you can enter into a prize draw. Collect your free activity packs with clues from Tamworth Assembly Rooms

“We’ve had a brilliant response so far; it’s wonderful to see so many people enjoying the festive fun.

“Tamworth has so much to offer visitors this festive season. We have everything from Christmas shopping, Christmas movies, market stalls, live music and performances, party nights and so much more.

“There are still some spaces for the ice rink and grotto, both very reasonably priced so that all can enjoy. Book now online at https://www.tamworthartsandevents.co.uk/whats-on.
