Parents urged to get flu jab for children
Parents of pre-school children in Arran are being encouraged for the first time ever to get their child vaccinated from flu.
Children and adults on the island will be offered protection from the virus as the vaccination programme rolls out at surgeries and schools throughout the region.
All parents of pre-school children in Arran will be contacted and recommended to make an appointment with their GP to get their child vaccinated in a bid to increase overall vaccine uptake.
The free vaccination will be offered to people in Arran with underlying health conditions, those who are pregnant or are 65 or older, as flu can lead to serious complications which may need hospital treatment.
