1975, the year of the Fox

-

After another unsuccessful season for Shiskine FC, the old men of the west are casting their minds back 40 years to reminisce about happier times.

The Reds of 1975 signed a voluble goalkeeper in the shape of a Fox who brought all of his vulpine tendancies to play in directing his defensive teammates, while winding up the opposition to their detriment.

The 1975 team could not be described as Shiskine’s best ever team, but they played for each other, trained - which in Shiskine was a novel approach to football - and went on to win the league comfortably.

Reminisce

So let’s allow these old men in their twilight years to reminisce about the players of yesteryear, Foxie, Jaimsie, Sautie, Sandy Ram, Charlie Mac, Charlie Currie, John C, Murray, Raymond, Hugh and some that time has wiped from this writer’s addled brain.
