Arran art featured at new Woodland View facility

-

backlit photos of Arran are on display at Woodland View, the new £46 million adult mental health and community facility at Ayrshire Central Hospital in Irvine.

The artworks that feature Arran have been taken over the course of a year and are showcased in the main corridor of the facility as part of an art strategy for the new development that opened its doors last month.

The photos that are on display were all put to a public vote through a weekly art blog ‘Points of View’ which asked people to vote for their favourites and the winners were the ones that are on display.

Linda Boyd, programme manager for Woodland View, led the delivery of the art strategy along with a member of the public, Clive Sheppard.

Therapeutic

Project director John Scott said: ‘The art strategy recognises the significant role that surroundings can play when creating a welcoming and therapeutic atmosphere.

‘The artworks fully complement the design of the facility and help us provide the best possible healing environment for patients and a safe, inspiring working environment for staff.’

Linda added: ‘On behalf of the art strategy group, Clive and I would like to invite you to come to Woodland View at any time. Visit us and find out how we have used Ayrshire and Arran’s landscape to create unique artworks to bring the outdoors inside and to see our gallery which will change throughout the year.’
