Arran Malt & Music Festival coverage Isle of Arran Distillers celebrate 21st birthday Plus a celebration of Arran’s Local Produce

-

Every year, the annual Arran Malt & Music Festival is held in the grounds of the distillery and this year a very special 21st anniversary celebration will take place from Friday, July 1 to Sunday, July 3.

This has become a real date in the calendar for whisky and Arran enthusiasts, bringing together some of the best island food producers, local musicians and bands from the mainland in a celebration of all things Malt and Music! Of course, the back drop to the weekend is the Single Malt, with the White Stag Whisky Dinner in the Visitor Centre on the Friday evening which has become a much sought after ticket with waiting lists for those who want to join in. On the Saturday, the festival starts at 11am and features fantastic whisky masterclasses where you have the opportunity to get really involved with the people who make the whisky and hear about their experiences in the industry.

Their annual special festival release will be available to purchase on the day – a small batch bottling which is chosen each year by the participants of their Ultimate Masterclass. This year, a brand new book ‘Arran Whisky – An Island Renaissance’ which documents the first 21 years of the distillery will be launched at the festival and author Neil Wilson will be available to sign copies and discuss the book with visitors. The event is also a family friendly affair with activities for younger visitors, including a bouncy castle, face painting and craft activities. The festivities are set to continue long into the evening with a celebratory ceilidh led by band ‘Whisky Kiss’.

Euan Mitchell, Managing Director of Isle of Arran Distillers said: ‘We are a proudly independent Scottish company, and great care and attention is given to making sure that our Single malt remains true to its roots. We

are one of the few remaining independent distilleries in Scotland, free of corporate chains, and this authenticity and desire to stay in close touch with our consumers makes us stand out from the crowd. ‘Our whiskies are full of personality – we are not just independently owned, we are also independently minded. We have an online community of Arran friends known as The White Stags and we are looking forward to welcoming many of them to Lochranza for our Festival in July. We are proud to take our whiskies all over the world and promote our beautiful island – it is a very special occasion to welcome them to or home in celebration of our 21st Anniversary.’
