Sunday August 14, The Alan Maxwell golf day. Thirty-four teams took part, and £1,900 was raised for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Thanks to all who participat­ed and donated raffle prizes and thanks to all the local businesses for their kind donations.

First prize with a score of 61 BIH, Jack McNally, Donald Logan, Graeme Andrews and Allan Napier. Second prize with a score of 61, Gregg McGeoch, Darren McNaughton, Greg McNaughton and Fraser Moore. Third prize with a

score of 60, Derek Milne, Mairi Milne, Iain Milne and Alison Thomson. Fourth prize with a score of 59 BIH, Malcolm McPherson, Fraser Jackson, Shona Jackson and Colin Beggs.

The list of hole prize-winners and all the prizes from the day are at the pro shop.

Wednesday August 17, gents 12-hole medal, 12 played. 1 and scratch, Lee Kennedy 47-5=42, 2 Dave Nicholson 53-10=43 BIH, 3 Joe Faulkner 48-5=43. Magic twos, L Kennedy and J Faulkner. Well done to Dave on winning the medal as Lee is not a member.

Thursday August 24, ladies 12-hole medal, 12 played, PAR 44, CSS 45. 1 Piet Johnston 56-12=44, 2 Kema Genda 52-7=45, 3 and scratch, Ann May 493=46. Congratula­tions Piet.

Wednesday August 24, Summer Trophy, round 14. 25 played in the latest round of the 2014 Summer Trophy.

Following the recent rains the course was in good shape with the greens deceptivel­y tricky, so much so that CSS went up one shot to 64 and the lowest gross score was 72 by Jamie MacPherson. 1 Dave Hackett 14, 62, 2 Alan Kay 18, 64, 3 Andrew Martin 12, 65, ACB, 4 Kevin McAleney 12, 65. Magic twos came from Jamie MacPherson at the fourth, David Brookens at the 11th and Douglas Auld and Owen Quigley each at the 17th.

Sunday August 28, the Betty Black Cup. 21 played in the rearranged Betty Black. CSS stayed at 63 and recently crowned Champion of Champions, Nicol Auld continued his fine run of form to come in first place. 1 Nicol Auld 5, 61 and lowest gross, 2 David Morrison 9, 62, 3 John Pennycott 13, 63, ACB, 4 Markus Kroner 8, 63. Neill McKechnie and Nicol Auld bagged the only magic twos of the day at the fourth and 17th.

Fixture: Sunday September 5, AGA Drumadoon Trophy and autumn handicap at Lamlash. Wednesday September 7, Bannatyne Cup.
