A Burdz Eye View of island

-

Arran is featured in the last episode of Elaine C Smith’s STV show Burdz Eye View which airs next Friday November 4 at 8pm.

It shows of the actress and comedian’s visit to the island, which wraps up the six-part series.

The second series saw Elaine continue her travels across Scotland with her stand-up tour as she got to meet the people who live, work and laugh in some of Scotland’s favourite holiday destinations.

The Arran episode will see Elaine taking in some of the local scenery, learning some of the local history and enjoying some Arran delicacies. She also took part in soap making and enjoyed the children’s day at the Arran Heritage Museum where she was presented with a birthday cake.

The funny and nostalgic series is made for STV by RPM Arts and Solus Productions, with Elaine providing a colourful narrative in her unique style as she meets the people of Scotland.

Elaine said: ‘I’m delighted that a second series of Burdz Eye View will be broadcast on STV and hope that viewers enjoy it as much as they enjoyed the first series.

‘I’ve been bowled over by the response from the public and I’m glad we have given the audience in Scotland a chance to look at their country through my travels and to see what a beautiful place we live in and also to meet some of the fantastic folk who live here – especially the women, who all too often don’t get their fair share of airtime.

‘The best response for me came from a wee woman in the supermarket who said she didn’t get out much and didn’t get away on holiday. She told me the programme is “like getting a wee bus run every week, hen”. So here’s to a new series of bus runs!’
