United bring home the silverware

-

Arran United junior football team played a return tournament against St Cadoc’s at Eastwood High School, Newton Mearns, Glasgow, last Sunday where they won a clutch of trophies.

Four teams travelled over on the ferry, two with players born in 2006, one 2008 and a 2010 team, which saw 30 children excitedly taking part in the matches. They brought home three trophies out of a possible four and had an enjoyable day out. The main trophy was presented to Arran United for winning the tie, three matches to two, which St Cadoc’s will be trying to win back at a future event. Players were treated to take away Domino’s pizza after the game at a local rugby club and equally as satisfying was when the CalMac ferry captain wished the players good luck over the PA system, which they loved. The next trip away for all of the Arran United teams is on Saturday June 3 when they are attending the Campbeltown Football Festival. Any new players interested in joining the team should make contact through their facebook page, Arran United Football Club.
